Sisterhood of the Moon
For the past two years, I’ve been living inside a protective chrysalis of healing. It’s been a dark, challenging, yet nurturing place that has been a necessary part of my post-divorce journey. From the safe confines of the cocoon, I have been able to examine what I really want for my life in ways that I never have before, and this Spring, the butterfly is ready to emerge at last! Spring is the perfect time to bring life to new creations and it’s with that joyful mindset that I’d like to introduce you to my newest chapter: The Sisterhood of the Moon.
The Sisterhood of the Moon is a community of open-minded spiritual seekers who are passionate about aligning their creative desires with the loving energetic force of the Universe so that they can live a fearlessly authentic life! Does that sound like you? Is there a creative thought lingering in the recesses of your mind that you would like to give space to grow? Perhaps it’s decorating your home in a way that fills your heart with joy, or maybe it’s picking your paint brushes back up, or maybe it’s taking a sewing class so that you can bring your fashion creations to life. It could be unleashing the free spirit in you who yearns to dance, or write, or sing, or garden, or throw pottery. Maybe you’re feeling like you want to change things up, but aren’t exactly sure how to do that or what it would look like. The truth is, that can be scary; it’s a lot safer to live inside the chrysalis. However, I believe that we were created by a loving energetic force (call it God, or Spirit, or Universe, or the Force), and consequently, the very fiber of our being yearns to create in some way. We crave beauty and expression and that creative art form has countless ways of taking shape.

Why the Moon?
The Moon is a divine feminine energy that marks the passage of time with a steady, natural rhythm. Every month she begins a new cycle with the New Moon and reaches maximum power two weeks later during the Full Moon, then slowly wanes back down through the three quarter moon until she disappears for a day or two and initiates a new cycle. Like the Moon, our lives follow a rhythm, and when we learn to align our rhythm with that of the Universe, I have found that magic happens. Therefore, the Sisterhood will use the phases of the Moon to announce their gatherings:
We will meet in the comfort of our own homes, through the creative power of technology, on Thursday evenings before the New and Full Moons. Technology has shown us how it’s possible to create meaningful connection even when people aren’t in the same geographical location, so for the Thursday moon ceremonies you’re invited to grab your favorite digital device, put on some comfy clothes then come to the gathering with a candle, a journal, headphones and an open heart and mind. Each get-together will last for approximately an hour and will be a lovely way to reclaim some time for yourself to wind down from the day and settle in to rediscovering your inner light. In addition, we will gather together once a month in person to rejoice under the benevolent energy of the Full Moon with playful excursions in the greater Boise area. See April’s schedule below.
Is the Sisterhood exclusive to women?
Whereas the Sisterhood of the Moon reveres a feminine energy, the circle is open to any “spiritual seekers who are passionate about aligning their creative desires with the loving energetic force of the Universe so that they can live a fearlessly authentic life” The reason for the name sisterhood is that at this point in my journey, I have found my message to resonate mostly with women, and as an uncoupled woman, I am often in the predominate company of females. However, if there is a man in your life (or you are a man reading this) that resonates with this description and intention, he is more than welcome to join the Sisterhood!

Still wondering if this is for you?
When we intentionally seek to make a change in our lives, it can be scary. If you’re still wondering if this is the community for you, give a listen to Wise Woman by Jason Mraz. It’s the song that inspired me to create the Sisterhood of the Moon and he puts into words and feelings the type of person that I belive would find value in this circle. And as a creative aside, this album (Look for the Good) was a departure from Jason’s usual singer-songwriter style, and I love to support artists that continue to fuel their creative inner voice, wherever that journey leads them. Enjoy the reggae vibes! And yes, that album cover is a mirror.
If the thought of carving out some time for yourself to intentionally create small shifts in your life resonates with you, please join me for the inaugural event on Thursday, March 31st 7pmPST/ 8pm MST. Feel free to invite other open-hearted and minded sisters to join the circle to see if it’s for them! The Sisterhood of the Moon circle is totally free (well, it “costs” an hour of your intentional time). I am excited to connect with YOU and all the wise woman that will join the Sisterhood of the Moon!
What small shift do you feel like you’re being called to make right now?
